It all started 35 years ago in a room above Mike’s natural food shop and restaurant in Trendle Street!
Looking back…
Mike and I moved from London to Sherborne 35 years ago when we bought the business Food for Thought in Trendle Street (now Chapterhouse Books). My first treatment room was located above the shop and we still have many of those original customers. As the beauty business grew it moved to rooms above The Three Wishes and then to the first floor above Mike’s growing Food for Thought business in Cheap Street (now Fat Face).
Sixteen years ago I made the move to Swan Yard where our Clarins Gold Beauty Centre was subsequently awarded No. 1 in the UK – a happy highlight in my long beauty career. Here we are now, 35 years later, with seven treatment rooms and a beautiful salon shop!
A fabulous refurbishment
We’re just putting the final finishing touches to our top to toe refurbishment of the salon. We hope you’ll love it as much as we do and will enjoy our extra-special, relaxing surroundings next time you visit.
A month-long celebration with £1000 worth of prizes
Every customer during May will be entered in our free celebration draw to be held at the end of the month. There will be 35 prizes (one for each year, naturally!) of treatments and beauty products, with a total value of £1000.

We are officially opening our new-look beauty salon at 10am on Saturday 31st May, when we’re delighted to announce the Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP has agreed to come and cut the ribbon. We will be celebrating all day on 31st, so do pop in to say hello and maybe join us for a glass of something and a chat – there’s a whole 35 years to talk about!
All it leaves me and the team to say is THANK YOU to all our customers for your support and friendship through the years, we couldn’t have done it without you.
